Once Upon a Time

a piercing gaze of lonely crystal eyes. a roll of ribbon unrav'ling itself. voluptuous lips speak a thousand lies. the torn binding of a book on the shelf. wine at the bottom of a fragile glass. the light dancing on the rippling water. the fairy godmother''s spell is now cast. fly down the stairs to where you last caught her. run to her, caress her one moment more. eternal flame, the torch-let it be lit! let ruffles of her dress glide o'er the floor. pray that time be stopped and savor e'ry bit. and tell her whether she be near or far she will always be there, there in your heart.
