Once Upon a Time
Once Upon a Time
I was able to see how everything connected
I used to believe in the power of love
I used to believe in something perfect
Back then every facet of creation was respected
I witnessed the flowing miracles of our being
Solemn days set aside for our worship
In celebrations of light, dance and music
Once upon a time I new the living hearts of everyone were our alter
And would you believe, impossible as it may seem
Once upon a time; I even walked on water
Those were the days
In the centre of the world
Those were the days before the age; of fear
Those were the days when I lived in balance
And those were the days we lived in reverence
Yes those were the days when we were all human
Those were the days before the age; of fear
But now we are lost in our disconnection
There’s nothing left to remind us of our union
These days I can’t even think of heaven
No; not without first thinking of the fear
We have idolised ourselves in our adolescence
And discovered every possible way to feed the fear
But now I stand-alone in the architecture of my ruin
My family divided, hated and derided, by the books of these beliefs
These are the days of emptiness, this is the age; of fear
Wasting away in desperateness, to live a life, when that life is already here
These are the days of meaning-less,
Yes; this is the age; of fear
Yes I used to see the perfection
I used to know the power of love
I was able to feel our connection
When natures calling lay open in my heart
I bore witness to the flowing miracle of our conception
Once upon a time I knew the loving hearts of everyone were our alter
And would you believe, impossible as it may seem
Once upon a time; I even walked on water
But now I live in the age; of fear
