Once Upon a Mother

I was once a mother sometime ago
That all slipped away
The dreams
The hopes
Losing a child is a harsh reality
One that is faced upon daily

The hollow feeling of emptiness
As you go down to the abyss of the unknown
The plans you once made fade now
In a blink of an eye all gone
It’s almost like a dream from which you cannot awake
It takes courage and faith to face the days ahead
Especially when all you feel inside is dead

Your were born silent not a sound you made
That sound was deafening on that very day
I will never understand why or how it came to be
But know God has his own great will
And What’s meant to be will be

As the day you were born draws near to be
I still hold your heartbeat inside of me
My darling sweet baby girl you will always be mine
I miss you each and every single day
Love from your mother
Now and always
