Once on a trip to Ooty

There were 36 hairpin bends down the hill
Our gentle bus driver had 50 lives on his bill
18th curve had a buzzing biker zoom with skill
Sensible bus driver didn’t budge an inch still
We all cheered like teen girls in skirts with twirl
The biker backed off 3 curves down like worm pill

On the fact alone that 36 hairpin bends down the hill, this entry gets first place in this contest. And you are talking about doing this in a school bus?!?! Wow! Congratulations on your win in my contest.

Thank you dear poet for the contest and placement. Yes this happened on a school trip to Ooty two years ago. I was monitor-teacher on the 'girls only' Bus. I am glad you liked it. Thank you for the sweet words dear poet. Blessings & cheers.

I have been to Ooty and Kodaikanal many times. Yes, there are several hair pin bends on the way as they are hill stations. Even in such curvy bends, some drivers, especially bikers in ride in breakneck speed. So scary. Enjoyed your mono rhymes, dear Thriveni.

Ooty is such a beautiful place isn't it? I am so glad you had been there many times. I used to visit every year with my students on year-end trips to Botonical gardens. Driving the bends has been a craze for the bikers. Scary as you say. Thank you for your kind comments dear poet, means so much to me. Blessings & cheers.
