Once Loved

Where has our love gone?
A love that was once there
More profound than the heavens
Brighter than the stars,
A love filled with the fondness,
A love that was but yours and mine.

Then came that day
When you abandoned me,
Left me stranded midway—
Alone and lonely!

Forsaken and forlorn
I wondered why?
Our love was to last forever,
Where did I go wrong?

If you would but seek once again
the sweet path to my once-loved embrace,
If you weep for me
and wishes to kiss me
I would pardon your perfidy…

Maybe, the love there was once
is now long gone, never to return.

Very well done, Abdul. That was funny when you said on my poem that it did not sound like Andrea. In one way it was kind of true, but you are right, it was nothing like the way I exaggerated it!
