On Your Wedding Day
Congratulations, Jack and Jill, your wedding day is here
The time has come to have and hold the one that you call dear
The love you share between you is both timeless and sincere
Your future will be full of joy and loved ones far and near
The pleasure of a tender start is how the heart is led
For love is not the words you say but how the words are said
The wedding vows you make this day are never made in bed
For true romance is gently born when passion fades instead
There may be days when you believe that love is an illusion
Your journey through the haze of love may leave you in confusion
But if you serve each other more you may reach this conclusion
That service is the key to love and hate is the delusion
True love is found in giving with no thought of I or me
And measured by your sacrifice and generosity
The purest form of living is to love unselfishly
For through the ones we came to love is who we come to be
Today two hearts will join as one in sacred resolution
To overcome your challenges with love as your solution
But what you leave your children is your greatest contribution
A legacy of love for which there is no substitution.
