On Writing a Triolet

Triolets have an interesting pattern ABaAabAB It is a mystery to me how this pattern evolved With some attributing it to a lazy poet, you see, Triolets have an interesting pattern ABaAabAB. A Triolet has no C, and, clearly no need for a D If the poet makes it through line 6, problem solved Triolets have an interesting pattern ABaAabAB It is a mystery to me how this pattern evolved.

I dare not try a triolet, as you are a master of them.

I wish you would, Caren, because they are easy and fun, and they lend themselves to magical thinking, which you are a master at.

I am awestruck by all the variations of poetry you write, Milt. It is too complicated for me. All the different forms of poetry must take you hours of concentration and research. I admire your tenacity. Take care, Milt

Oh, thanks, Shirley. I love word play, and I enjoy trying out the various poetry forms. When I like a particular form I try to keep using it. I always try to fit the form to the subject. Sometimes I can't, but often I do. You are most capable of writing any of the forms you choose, Shirley. You are an exceptionally fine writer, so never put yourself down...not to me, don't. I highly respect your work.
