On This Day
I stand and watch my last sunrise
and pen this note to all of you.
So few hours, so much to say,
these few words will have to do.
Today I will laugh and will cry.
Of sins, try to redeem myself.
I will hold precious life in my hands,
perceiving nature as Earth's wealth.
I'll drive to fast, on that winding road.
Meet some folks, that will touch me deep.
Have some help, carrying my load.
See my beliefs, I was able to keep.
I'll feel the pull of coyote song,
while standing at the rainbows end.
With others, I will sing along,
not caring who hears, just then.
On a world that has seen the light,
of the Rapture and His return.
To take home, those of unerring faith,
giving us, a second chance to learn.
I leave this poem, so all of you,
will know I have had no regrets.
I am full, with his abounding love,
as I watch a new sunset.
