On the Wall

It’s a scrape on the wall.
Someone must have clawed at it.
Depression is…
Realizing I don’t have any paint left to cover it.
Depression is…
Being mesmerized by the wall.
Depression is…
Wanting to fix it, for no reason at all.
I spent the money on paint.
I pulled out brushes and overalls.
I set up a ladder.
Only to decide…
That maybe I can live with a scrape after all.
