On the Side

On the Side Authored by Chuck Keys On the side of the road it lay, broken, forgotten and sorrowful sad. I passed it by, laughing with my friends, with nary a thought. But later, I remembered it; why? Who belonged to it; and do they know of its disrepair? Dust and debris covered some of it but not all. Emotionless it lay. No joy nor pain, only the moment. There was no life about it; maybe there never was.

"Who belonged to it" deep one here Chuck! Could it be "Hope", aspirations...? Very interesting. Have to read more... Peace, Audrey

Compelling, Chuck. I'm thinking it may have been an abandoned car, but if it was an abandoned animal, ooooh, that would make me furious with those who left it at the side of the road. Very intriguing!! Love, Carolyn

this is very thought provoking, very unique how you said it!! Loved the last four lines. Loved how you said, who "belonged" to it! LUv, Andrea

Sad, mostly the part where you first lauged. A not so god pictured finding something lifeless on the side of the road. the ending added many thoughts when you say. /// maybe there never was./// Well Mr. Chuck it is normal to wonder if they have a so called life before any end. Still very gooe I just got drawn in to your little discovery on the side of the road. Have a nice one,..Sidney LeeAnn
