On the Shore

You found me stranded on the shore Reached out your hand to show me more Your touch lifted me, out to sea Taken by serendipity A new smile lit flame to a wick Light in banks of fog, densely thick Currents moved with inspiration As I embraced, each sensation From then on, through storm’s wind and rain An anchor helped me to sustain Emotions brought color to sky With steady mind and soul to fly Heidi Sands *Placed among 1st placements, Contest NO 465.
