On the road

I'm on the road to success
And lately, I've been stuck in traffic
Long lines that never seem to move
It's been ages and I've barely moved

For it has been one turn after the other
And the turn that I'm on
Is so long that it has me slowing down
So slow that it feels like I'm coming to a halt

All that pacing only to get here
And have to wait till I make the crossing
Something that I'd easily cruised through
Now it seems like it's taking forever

I'm on the road to success
And lately, the path has become dark
It's like the light at the end keeps moving
Cause I'm moving but ain't getting near

For I'm sure I've been moving forward
But at this point, it feels like I'm crawling back
Feeling like I'm crawling back to my comfort zone
The slow lane where nothing happens

Maybe I'll park my car by the side of the road
And I'll close my eyes for a bit
And rest while I can
Cause honking won't move me up the traffic
