On the River Bank

On the river bank...I sat listening, watching the rhythm of this stream
I drifted into a deep daydream
On the river bank...Lost in distant memories
A beautiful day despite the chilly breeze
On the river bank...I thought about you, and all that we use to do
In the air I could smell the honeydew
On the river bank...I couldn't help but think of the love we made in this very spot
Back then you were my Guinevere and I was your Lancelot
On the river bank...We use to talk well into the afternoon
It was back in June when we went skinny dipping under the full moon
On the river bank...We made plans to escape the Kingdom and vowed to never return
But one too many knew our secret, and now our hearts feel the burn
On the river bank...Is where your father's royal guard discovered our hideaway
Now alone on the river bank is where I spend most of my days
