I walk into the park on Christmas night. A wonderland of winter greets my eye. In shadows with a bluish tinge, the white of snow looks magical, and it’s piled high. I’m glad I wore my boots! I look ahead and see a bench. It’s also steeped with snow. It looks like Saint Nick’s sleigh or a fun elf sled! Like a child reborn, to that bench I go, brush off the snow on one end, and I sit and singing Jingle Bells, my favorite tune, I’m taking in the scene, enjoying it. But getting cold, I know I must leave soon. To my imaginary one-horse sleigh I bid farewell; I’m calling it a day! I enjoyed reading this one. I wondered if the writer of this one was living the scene as they wrote the sonnet. I hope your Christmas will be a nice one with love and family encircling you. Thanks for dropping by my blog..Sara

LOVE IT, love it! Christmas present and past. Love what you did with the punctuation here ... brave and exactly promising. I’m here with you on the adventure, on the bench with you and feeling the cold. Wonderful image and lighting our senses of everything new and everything old.

A lovely interpretation of the image, Andrea. And Christmas really is a magical time for children of all ages. Visit me in Florida and our sunshine will warm you, but I'd prefer to gallop away on that horse, leaving the sleigh behind. Hugs and winning wishes for you, Carolyn

I know this is for the contest. You need to put the number of picture at the bottom of your poem. You painted a lovely scene. I love the way you mention singing Jingle Bells. My granddaughters love to sing that song. Best luck in the contest. xxoo : )

thanks, and don't worry. i had to go enter it and add all the other stuff into it, like the number and the picture, etc. That was funner than most contests!! Some of them right now are real doozies. i am giving myself 9 to do, but only half of them really soon. A few just don't grab me so I probably will overlook some of the contests up right now. I hope you have seen my mail . I am calling it a night on the internet and getting busy on the house and dinner now!
