Beauty stills hearts in a small town
Where everyone knows everyone
And hopes meet rays of buttery sunshine
On clear, cool mornings in the summer
While children play on the emerald lawn
Laughing, smiling, enjoying the light
That leaves a glow across the horizon
And a musical note of joy through the soul
Who knows that this is where grace
Colors the moon in tangerine hues
And the rain in brilliant drops of truth
In a small town where people smile
At one another, lighting fires
Of passion and lingering resilience
There lives a divine breath of faith
Whispering peace and amazing grace
Flavoring the moments in inspiration
And the hours in sweet imagination
While people leave because they know
Of nothing to do here among the hearts
Who love them without a reason
And feel like they bring the season
A sparkle that grows from moonlight
And stardust, twinkling love among the lives
Who live there in that small town
Whispering promises of love and light
And, they leave… they go, they move on
As the small town continues to thrive
On the few who last through the shadows
Of fear that there must be a better life
Away from the small town they always knew
They leave. They go. They grow lonely
On the notes of a song with no melody
A small town grows in rhythm with hope
