On the Cross

I raise my eyes,
I lift my heart,
Shut my ears not to hear,
Fixed agape and gaze,
Oh, no! Someone on the cross
So painfully pinned,
Crying in much pain,
Was he to go through this?
I asked with no answer.
Was it the right time,
Was it the right way,
So many are the questions,
But the answer remains,
He did this for me,
He did this for you,
It was perfect,
A firework in reverse,
Glorious start,
To painful ending,
But above all,
Victory for sure.
