On the Balancing Scale
If the days were a predictable symmetry
Perhaps then we could begin to assess
The delicate poise linking love and splendor
The laborious days to evening’s pleasures
The iron of resolve and tendrils of desire
Youth’s fiery spirit to the wisdom of years
Love’s bitter blossom to hatreds tranquil rains
Life in the essence of balancing
Within the subtle melodies of dissension
The day of innocent love flourishing
Consuming the acrimony of the forlorn soul
The triumphant of light over the darkness
In these walls we are perpetually ensnared
Striving to stand upon these shifting grounds
Upon these chained pans we stand opposing
Balancing within our utter rapt allure
Shifting and balancing against one another
Here in this place where you and I
Are one.
