On the Anniversary of Love

Today, on the anniversary of love,
I wished to weave you into words—
In the form of a poem, or perhaps a tale,
A song… or simply a description of your being

But a word as beautiful as you—
I could not find one
In all the languages of the world

Your entire presence is one thing,
Yet your smile… the glance of your eyes,
The curl of your hair,
And the glow upon your forehead—

None of it could be expressed

Words folded their hands in surrender,
And tongues fell silent.
What could a humble one like me write

In the book of this world?
Even God, in all His beauty,
Could not write a second line like you
