On Starry Nights
What of a starry, starry sky
that bids our wishes travel high
Swirling yellow blinking wonders
erasing thoughts of all past blunders
Silhouettes of living forms
witness the nights of whimsy norms
Above the city stars casts their spells
and traveling lights become wishing wells
Where do our wishes go come morn
when from night’s sky the stars are torn
Will they land tumbling on rolling hills
or on a church steeple… hopeful still
What of these starry, starry nights?
Vincent Van Gogh, in paint, gives life
