On Starry Night On a starry night Staring at shining stars With pure delight to the soul, Bemused by infinite space Stretching to the sky On a starry night, Baffled by sheer distance Is the simple human folk Staring at shining stars On starry nights Gazing at heaven With pure delight to the soul.

Hello Krishnanand, When the sky is clear at night. The stars appear. along woth the moon. sometimes the moon is full. Or quarter. No matter how the moon is shaped the stars are out. i gaze at the stars Find the brightest star and wish upon it. blessings.my friend. /Darlene/

Thank you Darlene for visiting my page and for appreciating the write. I often gaze at the full moon and sometimes at some particular star early in the morn, before dawn shining in the eastward horizon. I have shot several pictures of it for my collection....Wish you a pleasant week end ahead, my friend.

A starry night is always a delight not only to children but to people of all ages. In a blue clear sky when stars twinkle like sequins stitched on blue chiffon is a wondrous sight. How many poems must have been written through ages celebrating the beauty of starry nights. All the best dear Krishanand.

Thanks a lot, Valsa, for visiting my page and your kind wishes. Indeed, stars have the subject of numerous poems. I have myself written several of them, one published in Poetry Soup is "A Little Child of the Night". Another one "Gazing at the Stars", self published in a collection of poems" Spirituality and Beyond", does not feature here. The snag with the present poem is that it has to be within constraining parameters imposed by the contest. Wish you a pleasant afternoon.
