On Silver Breeze
On silver breeze my mind takes flight
Toward winter thoughts of fancy
I fly with ease through frosty white
And laugh so hard, I can’t see
In tinsel dreams, I reach my goal
A candy caned, red hamlet
I think I found the old North Pole
Though, I can’t see the sign yet
The sounds I hear confirm my thoughts
As Ho Ho Ho’s surround me
My travels were not all for naught
As what I see astounds me
Excitement brews as I begin
To think of all the fun things
Alas, just then to my chagrin
My history teacher’s bell rings
So back to work for now I go
Hoping winter fun will keep
Perhaps, I’ll catch that breeze tonight
All tucked into my bed, asleep
