On roads of light, I fly with wings of hope

On roads of light, I fly with wings of hope, I wonder, with my soul in flight, my thoughts with you, beloved. What would have been, if love had been given a chance? Would my sky be clear, or still clouds and rain, sad? The one soul I've loved has flown towards the stars, afar, And there remained also the dream, alienated, in the night of longing. When you come on wings, in the night, to take me, You just stay there, hold me tight, listen, tell me I'm not lost, that I can still love. I feel it when my heart flutters, when my tear runs warm, I yearn for you both day and night, in a yearning that does not fade, that will not be dismissed. Your books, old love stories, I keep reading, Not for their sweet words, but because you wrote them. Are you still there, in life, waiting for me? I know you are close, when my soul is touched by your divine caress. It's always at night, when I miss you the most, When the world is silent and I dream of us being, without fear, without dread. I put your letter on my pillow, so in my last sleep, I'd be in your embrace. One morning, with tears-filled eyes, the letter was gone, unexpectedly. Looking out the window, where I saw a rainbow in the sky, In silence, I realized that you had come, that you are, that you are not a stranger, that you are not a dream. And so, within these cold walls, I keep sparks of your soul, Beams of light on shadows of sadness, but know this, I have not forgotten your promise. With every heartbeat, with every breath that gives me life, In any wondrous sign, I understand that you are my beloved angel, and that time is no longer pain.
