Notes About The Poem

On Rivers of Love

Rivers of love run through my crimson veins
From the flowing spring
Which is my heart

The crimson flood whispers in breaths
Like a musical feast, a banquet
Indulging my senses

Graceful and unbroken, the flow
Pours through my naked life
Leaving light and laughter

Rushing across the rocky places
Where I have been hurt
Replacing pain with compassion

The crimson flow breaks apart the past
Into bits and pieces of memory
Where they can be left

Like a lingering touch, sighing softly
The warmth caresses my thoughts
With feelings precious – hope

Waves of this running current moves in me
Calling out to the energy within me
With love that is intimate – intense

Without this gentle love flowing on
I would be lost, gone, vanished
Beyond the reach of prayer

Inside these crimson veins, flows a love
Brighter than the tides of change
More alive than my fears or pain

Love like this leaves its mark on my soul
Shouting through the silent thoughts
About the truth of giving fully

Emotions run high in this poem. With God's help pain becomes joy. Wish I had some of that joy. ~~

Very inspiring, Regina... I like how the pain has been replaced with compassion and love... May it always be so! Peace, Gershon
