On Reflection

On Reflection

How can you share what others can't see
Or feel, or think or be?
	Fitting in, acting a part,
While emotions lay hidden so deep in your heart
	That others would not understand
	Or miss-understand.
In their eyes you are somebody else,
An alien from a planet far removed
With no real place to call home.
	Friends, family, lovers or partners?
	Strangers one and all
	With different horizons and dreams,
Yet still you continue that lonely quest
	For a like-minded soul.
On reflection I too am still on that road,
After years I still carry that load
Not too far to go and the end seems so clear
Now the end of a life draws so near
	And the answer my dear?
	That soul that you seek?
In this world it just doesn't exist.
