On My Way
Mind on a spindle,
Churning,
Burning,
With aspirations,
And motivations,
Ideas of bringing me down?
Well never mind,
Not a soul can cease my grind,
I’m not sure where I’m heading,
But I’ve been on this road,
Examined seeds I’ve sowed,
Along the way,
Tomorrow’s more significant than today,
And at this time,
I’m in my prime,
The need to reach a true height,
Removes me from former plight,
Pushes me on,
Till I reach the dawn,
Of success,
Though I must express,
I’ve ran the miles,
Weathered the trials,
Can’t measure the stamina,
I have left,
Now I must make the right,
To feel right,
And to keep my sight,
Drive forward into the night,
Seeking my future direction,
Removing blemishes from my complexion,
My cup spills over for love and peace,
A chance for the world and my chance to see Greece,
I’ll keep up the drift,
Since I have the gift,
To share my words with the Earth,
To find my true worth,
Soon enough,
No ideas to rebuff,
Only gold,
And the cigarettes rolled,
May cut me short,
Even so,
I’ll go,
Knowing I gave it my all,
And didn’t allow another fall,
Into the giving up of hope,
And the knotting of the rope,
Since my light has been lit,
I’ve known I’m better than it,
Never never quit,
Said the stone,
I may be alone,
But I’ve only grown,
From each moment spent,
Making the rent,
And a healthy vent,
It cures all that ails,
I’ll smile at the sails,
And know I’m on my way.
