On My Plateau

On my plateau we have a saying,
"You can jump as high as you want, but you'll only gain a fraction of your height."
Work hard to reap the benefits,
Work harder to prove yourself right.

It's not about standing out,
It was never about the rewards.
It was about the personal satisfaction of a job well done.
When they watch us in the big picture, we're just blurs above the horizon.

If you're only motivation for hard work is to gain recognition,
You'll have trouble on my plateau.
