On My Knees

Getting down on our knees
Is this really to say "God Please"
Reaching out to God can sometimes tease
But can we really reach him on our knees
Is kneeling down a way to beg
Saying to God "To this I am lead"
But silence comes as no surprise
We wait for something before our eyes
Perhaps something small
Or the avoidance of death
Can we trust God with all that is left
Perhaps the day is not the day anew
Should we stop trusting
When we don't have his view
Sometimes death is mercy
That's even for you
But still get on your knees
Look and see what God will do

Prayer can change things in our lives. We might get the answer we expect, but we get an answer. Christian friends can bring an answer to us. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

I've understood it means to become humble and to give up pride. I like the questioning though. If we do meet a Creator in Heaven, perhaps the first thing he will say is, "Any questions?" This is an excellent poem that is very thought-provoking.

Down on our knees can be different for so many people in so many places. It can mean anything from I humbly knee before you God and will give my all to You or it can be God I have messed up and have not asked Your forgiveness and please save me God. Sara K
