On My Cousin's Birthday

Maggie-
           I hear by the stars...
           It's your day to celebrate!
           Wish you love and health,
           You have a loving mate!
           Your years have left....
           Maggie's Mark on all.           
           Love of nature, music,  
           science, people.......
           and hearing God's call.                                  
           Have I missed any?
           I did, your love of country!
           Your awards as a teacher
           in science, phenomenally!

What a wonderful poem to write about your cousin! You must have a very close relationship to know her so intimately. How special for both of you--Pangie and Maggie:-) Some cousins don't ever experience that.

Hi Madelyn, I do know her quite well. We grew up next door to one another. We scared cows on car trips to Wisconsin by saying something silly to them when we were kids out the car window. No seatbelts back then. She came to my debutante ball in a pink lovely dress, looked like 'Princess Maggie'.. We listened to Jazz together, like Stan Getz. I missed her wedding, wrecked my car, night before. Geez! Still feel close to her! Thanks, Madelyn for commenting. Pangie
