On Marriage
The marriage road is full of bumps
and many stones along the path,
some small enough to pick up
and slightly toss aside,
others heavy as boulders
each one a burden to weigh you down
until you carry it to next clearing
sometimes mile away
but if you walk together
mindful of the rocky places,
though you may stumble you will not fall
into the traps that lie in the shadows.
