On Helvellyn
Lost the path.
descending through a swirling fog.
Cliff hanging, rock hugging.
To fall now
would add six seconds of time
down to the end of it all,
but not to fall
only to grip and stay
on the edge of a rhetorical question
that would really be a path lost.
