On Fields of Strife
No man can say, for only God knows why-
one man will live while another will die.
But it is always so on fields of strife-
that some are chosen to lay down their life.
Comrades in arms are fighting side by side-
one will live, the other death must abide.
But it is always so on fields of strife-
that some are chosen to lay down their life.
No man can say how he would face that day-
if he would stand and fight or run away.
But it is always so on fields of strife-
that some choose freely to lay down their life.
Brave men all, those who stand and live-
and those that are called forth their all to give.
But it is always so on fields of strife
that some are destined to pay the ultimate price.
