On Ecclesiastes 9:10

Enjoy your life; do all that you can with purpose because you can’t live it again. Embrace what you do with great zeal and with joy. Your life the Grim Reaper shall steal. Don’t think that your life God will save just like that if good works you put off till your grave.

A really thought provoking poem Andrea! Yes, my beliefs vary despite instilled Catholicism but one thing I hold fast to is that whilst good deeds are still better than bad deeds, what you can't do with them is mask what is the inner self and think the good deeds themselves, when done with the intent of personal reward or glory are changing anything. Think the bible quote is about having already got the reward from man if you boast about your goodwill :) thought provoking - enjoyed!

I did not understand the scripture perfectly so I had to look up its meaning and I was basically describing what the definition of it was! Of course, if you do good works just for boasting, it's meaningless.

Yep, many people become saints in their old age. My chanting neighbors. I go to the bar every now and then just to keep unhealthy balance.
