On Bullying At Soup

At least a time or two (Well, more than that) some bullies have had unkind words for me at blogs (which should be monitored) and in mails, and also underneath my poetry. If someone has complaints I can address, I do not mind to get them in a mail if at least politely they’re expressed, but words of cruelty I don’t take well. I have been threatened and harrasssed by mail. Those people (and there only were a few) I blocked if they had been especially rude, and some of them I just stopped talking to. Regarding bullying beneath one’s poems, I think that everyone can understand when people are on purpose being mean. When it becomes habitual, it’s planned! These kinds of people have not got a life. We do not have to take their cruelty. Report them! I have seen some be removed. Click “Block” and take them off your poetry! Hello Andrea … words can be mightier than the sword. I can’t believe your poetry cops a spray. Jealousy eats the heart away and ignoring the rubbish is best of all - you give us all heart here Andrea - Lindsay

Nice job regarding this subject. I agree if you don’t like someone’s poet just don’t read it. There’s no reason to be cruel. I think people like that have a problem they should address.

Nice work Andrea. I can’t get my head around bullying on a poetry site. If you don’t like someone’s poem, don’t comment, End of. Well done again.

It is so important to stand up to bullies, but I have found probably 95 percent of people here to be kind and encouraging, so it is thankfully rare to come across them, and you are such a good example of how to be thoughtful and considerate of others~

I am not seeing that as much now as when I first came on soup. I hope those people have gone on to do something else with their life and something better not worse. Enjoyed reading your contest entry. Way to go. Thanks for all the visits to my page. Sara

Good advice, Andrea. I was bullied twice by the same person and blocked him immediately. ~~

Awe, this gives me goosebumps and I’m tearing up because I was one of the victim here. I’m literally crying now, which I know I shouldn’t let this get me anymore because I’m stronger than that. Thank you for sharing your inspiring poem, Andrea :)

There is enough turmoil in this crazy world to create more on a site that we enjoy so much to express our creativity. It is really sad that some of us have to create more drama then what is taking place right now in the world. Instead of uplifting one another with support and accolades they choose to do the opposite by ridiculing and attacking. Thank you Andrea for addressing this issue and Mark for giving you the platform to do it in. Stay safe and much luck in the contest...

Good words of advice. I commend you on your resiliency with boneheads in the past who think rudeness and cruelty is an acceptable form of behavior. Best wishes in Mark's contest ~ John

I think you have seen so much on here... Harassment, bullying, packs of wolves targeting individuals... Your poem is fitting for this contest

"Block" and "Delete" do work well, but with COVID-19, too many hours are being spent venting on a keyboard rather than breathing fresh air! We all need a break! Aloha! Rico
