Carole Duet Poet Couplet

On Another Planet

Here am I and there you are,
  far away on another star.
Yet I think of you every day
  and in my heart you stay.
You are my friend,
  my secret lover to the end.
I count on you
  to be there when I'm alone and blue.

Our hands may never touch
  but you know you mean so very much.
You're my starry night and my sunny day
  and in my dreams we play.
Both near and far
  gazing at the same bright star.
Tears fill my eyes in sorrow sweet,
  hoping someday on another planet we will meet.
