On a Passing Cloud There Floats a Dream

On a passing cloud there floats a dream
Drifting in an azure sky.
A hope or wish that may have been
Receding as it passes by.

Maybe though that dream will find
A sleeping soul, filled with despair.
Then in that waiting, troubled mind
Place a crumb of comfort there.

For a dream can soothe a soul
A dream can take you anywhere,
To a place to make you whole
A place awash with love and care.

And in the morn when they awaken
Happier, though they know not why.
But for a while their troubles taken,
By that dream, just passing by.
