On a Misty Morning

When I say " waiting for my line to ring" it is not of sound in which I speak. My favorite past-time with the exception of poetry (of course) is trout fishing. When you fly fish, one watches the line in the water and when you see a ring at the end of the line that is in the water, it usually means that you either have a fish nibble or you are stuck on the bottom. Hopefully "Fish-On"

It is here...where my mind is at ease
Alone, fishing on a misty morning
Wading, feeling only the rivers breeze
Waiting, for my line to ring

God's painting pictured on the sky
I see each time I cast my fly
It is here...where I would choose to die

On a misty morning, with my mind at ease

Hi Charlie, Congratulations on your placement! Your poem reflects the simplicity and serenity of fishing. My husband loves to fish - 12 on the scale of 1-10.

Charlie, a coworker of mine has a similar plan, the only difference, he will be taking a half pound of the finest hydroponic with him. Congrats on your placement.

Charlie, I've just read this again, and it's even better this time, if that's possible! You have penned a piece of Paradise! If this isn't a big winner, then my name isn't Murgatroyd Fofoofnik. (That's what my mother called me, bless her memory. LOL). Best of everything, Gershon

Well, Murgatroyd (lol) from your mothers lips to mine...as she has been blessed to have raised a great child, I have been blessed to have met a great friend and a great poet. Thank you for being you...Your friend, always. Charlie

The river was close. Oh, how I loved weekend motor boat trips to the other side for fishing in the endless channels between the sandy islands overgrown with shrubs and willows. Thanks for the opportunity to remember, Charles.

Yes, great childhood memories Kurt. Early mornings, picking worms from my parents lawn the night before, and the excitement of the long walk to the river knowing that you have a chance to hook onto something huge...unforgettable! Thanks for visiting my friend. Charlie

Great restraint and perfectly balanced brevity, but still with very good imagery. A peaceful and inviting poem, Charlie, very nicely done.
