On a Different World In a Different Time

I met her over there
She had such a smile
She had such a stare

I asked her what she was called
She giggled and replied:
'called, I am called'

Her eyes were like the summers evening sun
I'd never known that such beauty could leave me so undone

We were walking where I don't know where or why?
I was so stunned and mesmerised by her face; to not follow her?
I'd just sooner die!

We stood in the field behind the derelict Manor House
She kissed my cheek and my heart did dance

She smiled and said: 'I must leave you now but I'll be back'
Somehow I knew something was wrong but I couldn't ask

Then she kissed me and as I closed my eyes
Perhaps an angels kiss, perhaps just sheer surprise?

As I opened my eyes she was gone out of sight
I heard her giggle above me and looked straight up into the sky

I saw a small craft shooting into the white clouds

Love found me with a perfect smile
Love looked at me with eyes so gentle and bright
Love filled my soul with joy on that warm summer night
Love kissed me and I heard the angels sing
Love flew away on angels wings

One night in fright I awoke from an aching dream
This night the dark seemed so dark I cried for the angels to sing

A light lit the night with a warm summer glow
A giggle kick-started my heart and I saw beside me in my home
The angels face with the angels eyes
She giggled and said: 'my love, I'm back and I'll never leave your side'
She fell into my arms and love consumed the night
In my dreams it felt like my soul had taken flight!

I awoke on a different world in a different time.
