Oleander Blooms

Do not at oleander flowers rejoice In the valley casting a shadow Do not jubilate at a girl's lure Until you perceive the deeds You would get actually diseased When you its nectar suck and florets chew Be eventually hoodwinked by manifest charm When no benefit from remorse reap.

Things are not always what they appear to be. Looks can be decieving and some of the most beautiful things, can be the most deadly... Your words are wise and very expressive. Great work! Welcome to Poetry Soup. I look forward to reading more of your poems!

And yet oleander blooms may be beautiful in their own way...They are undeniably poisonous, and feminine charms may definitely be dangerous and misleading...but, both may be sooo alluring!

Leo Larry Amadore this is exactly what I tried to infer in this poem; juxtaposing both lures and repercussions ... Thank you for reacting !
