Notes About The Poem

Image result for pictures of an old women gossiping

Oldwife

Through white lattice, out on the porch in August Fog surrounds, rain dripping from oak leaves, plop Dew-soaked silvery grass longs to wanderlust But alas, 'tis stuck in the same whistlestop Watching the world speed by under those cloudy skies Wondering what lies on the bright side and applies That human life which lives in denial's strife When wanderlust flows in the veins of an oldwife
Oldwife- a prating old woman, a gossip

I have always wondered what compels people to interrupt peace with nonsense. Enjoyed! Aloha!

Apaches do not speak unless they have something important to say, and there are no Apache curse words, so listening to people who have nothing to say is a real challenge! Aloha!

Gershon, I had never heard of oldwife except in the term old wife tales, but I found out that oldwife is actually a word. What about that. I guess we old women do a lot of talking. Sara
