Older

I promised I’d write a poem.

The day before my birthday.

Turns into the night before my birthday.

I’m still 26,

I’m still 26,

I’m going to sleep…

27.

I live alone.

I work from home.

My 26 year old me,

Does not need a poem.

My 26 year old me,

Does not matter anymore.
