Old School Talk

Grandma asked me did I mind going to the store. I gave her a look as if I wasn't sure. Grandma begin to start one of her speeches, which really sounds like one of my teachers. Grandma begin to say, she had to work hard for her pay, and that I would learn what thats like one day. She said just to buy a can of lard, she had to work in somebody's yard. Grandma said " When I was young, sometimes being a child wasn't so much fun. She said she had to study real hard in school , because she wasn't going to be nobody's fool. By the time grandma finished high school, she found out about a new rule. The rule was she must go to college, to better her education and gain more knowledge Grandma went to college and got her degree, she said if I follow in her footsteps that could some day be me. After that long old school talk, straight to the store I did walk. I made up in my mind right at that time, if grandma ever ask me to go to the store I won't give her that look anymore.
