Old Persons Lament
I am sitting here in a chair.....yet
my minds is still my own,
why do people whisper about you out loud
making you feel all alone
Discussing my this and that
Personal things I wouldn’t share
Can’t they see I am feeling distressed
Don’t they care!!!
Why is it when you’re old
People think you’ve lost the plot
Old, yes, I might be wrinkled
But invisible I am not.
So next you visit someone old,
Don’t talk as though they don’t care,
Smile include them in the talk,
Not just leave them in a chair.
