Old Man Sitting Alone

Old Man Sitting Alone Steve L, Siegel Sept. 2015 -:- I sit here with my dog as cars go whizzing by past Time even seem to go by slower yet Most of my friends are now put to rest Soon that be my fate, as well as my pet. -:- I sit here as an old man looking up at my flag Seeing all the trouble around me I know my time here is starting to slag When I’m looking at my flag I want you to see what I see. -:- A country that is strong and full of fight A spirit that will never die All working together can sit in the light Neat and tight as a well tied tie. -:- I ask you not to forget your brothers and sisters They are what holds this great nation together Their sacrifices were great, do not shed tears They fought for you even in the worst of the weather -:- It’s our spirit and dreams that gives this nation breath Giving it, its life and freedoms that we get too enjoy Helping a neighbor is not a sin, let that be our wealth For everyone in their lives is needing a little joy. -:- GB. This Country of Ours.
