Old Friend

Your voice is like an old friend,
Always there.
No matter the time,
Day or night.
Your voice a call away.
To voice opinion, a shared
Thought or two.
The neighborhood we both
Know and love,
No matter how far away.
You ease the goosebumps
Of anxiety, the closest thing
I have of you,
Constantly replaying in my mind.
Twisted & wound up in comfort,
Your voice an old friend near and
Dear to my heart.
To indulge in a drink or two
Before heading home.
Indulging in yet another after
What we label as the last drink.
Old friend you’ve saved my life
Plenty of times.
Bringing relief to many weary
Thoughts.
No matter the time,
Day or night.
The neighborhood we both
Know & love not far,
Every curve, every crack in the
Sidewalk.
Your voice old friend,
Is always there
No matter the time.
Day or night
