Good morning
Mr Wilson,
Sir -

Are you
ready

for
a
bright
sunny day?

Young man,
today
is the same
as
yesterday,

I can't
remember
a
bright sunny
day,

here
In this
rest home -

I get three
meals
a day,

a
game board
to
play -

my
medicine;

a nap
after lunch,

exercise,

and
maybe

someone
will wake
me
for supper.

That's
how my day's
are
spent -

You know
young
man,

as I recall.....

a man
wearing

a
white
uniform

said
to me,

"Don't worry
Mr Wilson,

family
will come
to
see you

once
a
week."

Well son,
ain't
nobody

came
except you,

and

I see
you
everyday.

Now,
tell me
again,

Are you
my
grandson-

"No
Mr Wilson
Sir -

I'm your
caretaker -

heartbreakingly sad and foremost in my mind as mum moved into a care home 2 days after dads funeral I visit almost every day and take her out - other residents get few or no visitors - mum calls them 'the living dead' - she socialises and goes to see them every day bless her:-) Hugs jan xx

Hello Jan, good to here from you always, thank you for your thoughts. Sorry to here that your mom is in a care home, but, you are a good daughter to visit her everyday. I'm sure that she's proud of you, so many of our loved ones are forgotten in care homes. I'll never forget the lessons i've learned from older people, I will always be there for them. Stay strong Jan, always Ken
