For the International Contest, I Almost Tossed It Out

Human Written

it was on a sunny day that sent me to exploring
and I found an old cemetery
inviting, sunlit and airy
and I could smell drifting rosemary
as I walked among the names my emotions were soaring
I was lost in a sea of stones
oh, tears came for the decayed bones
buried among sun dappled tones
my hair a dark river down my body flowing, pouring
cotton candy flowers dying
even the statues are sighing
the vines, vines were really trying
I almost tossed these lines out but for the question roaring
will I be lost among the vines
a dead poet who wrote nice lines
will keep 'til I see how life untwines
