Old Biddy Makes Fred Dead

You can never have too many flowers the old woman said. She pushed a bunch of them into the cage with the parakeet, Fred. Unfortunately, said many, the poor parakeet is dead. What is wrong with her? Her persnickety relatives asked her son Ted. Did she mean to smother Fred? Is the woman daft in the head? She might be insane; the most outspoken cousin has said. Fred was named after her husband who caused her face to get red. An abusive guy who liked the bird better and fed it expensive bread. That old biddy had probably wanted Fred the parakeet dead

She probably got tired of cleaning up after him. I've never succumbed to having a parakeet as a pet. Too much work.

I think they are a lot of work but not as much as a monkey.

He’s gone to meet his maker! He’s pushing up the daisies! He’s pining for the fjords! Old biddy’s surely crazy! Fun poem, Caren
