Old Age and Ache

Old age and ache
Foot on brake pad
The shake stressing

Tibia’s throb
The knees nob and
Hobnob ankle twinge

Perhaps the doc
Takes off sock and
It’s all a crock

No thank you pain
Be no cane or
Slight strain of pace

Kim Em bones become a problem as we are getting older, but you are still young my friend.. We retired into A retirement village a couple of years ago, for safety more than anything else but getting older and old is certainly not for sissys. Horrible to think that a broken bone in my early sixties, is now several years later, bothering me. Well penned my friend. love and hugs, Jennifer. .

write about things yes i agree, poetry has got me through the toughest years of my life and it is like my 'diary in some cases, i know how cathartic writing has been for me and it will continue to be especially now - at the end of the day nobody knows what we are going through in life and why we feel the need to write and post poetry. BUT to have your poem limit restricted as instigated by some folk who seldom even post on soup is so unfair, at least you post regularly Kim not like some of the others!!! hugs jan xx

As we reach old age we sadly become like casualties of war. Hang on in there Kim.xx

I am so in awe of your ability to write in so many forms! This one gives voice to the dilemma of the pains of aging and is very poignant!

It is fun to write in different forms, some more difficult than others. Who knows how well we do but we attempt to get it right. Some forms involve more than the syllable and rhymes but we try :) Thank you, Karen!

.....and you keep going, anyway! This is a mature write that I respect- even respect you for pains that come with age. It's so predictable sometimes that you can be feeling something and the doctor doesn't know where it's coming from! Hats off to you, dear lady! <3
