Ol' Shifty Eyes

Never thought
I’d see you here
Perhaps somewhere less noisy would have been the better option

This will all all start with a sneer
and the clouds seek us for fear
that the effortless job bestowed by the angels
who dwell in their angles
will deem them useless another year

Dipped in smoke screens
we will revive
Draped in gasoline
we will survive

Trust
that this is natures way
of kicking at our shins
Though all the magnetism occurring here
should have been the “bigger hint”

Oh what a grand finale
Such a succulent feast
Remove the veils from the prisoners eyes
they are the forks to stab the beast

If memory serves me
which it barely ever does
it’s tip jar lifestyle will be thrown out the window
for accepting another love

It’s intrinsic
A follower
A violent instinct undiscovered
But I will find you
and make you understand

Take a stand
fight the good fight for today
if your chest is caving in
you’re blindly on your way

I will find you
