Ohio Walk

walking through the dark alley
my cigarette lights the way
I follow the trail
of all the cigarettes I've left before
I'm reminded of my past;
how I look back with love,
and remember with fondness
I realize
I must cherish the present
with this same fondness.
For when the past was present,
I did not have this love for it, either.

It is important to live in the moment even though we do have to make plans for our lives but if we loose life by either only looking back or forward we miss it entirely. Sara
